The purpose of using the Document Library feature is to have your users easily search content. The search function will search both the document file name, and the contents of the file. The following are tips for getting the most out of the search function.
- Document file names must not use the “.” (period) to separate words or date parts. If you have meeting minutes, do not name the document 06.19.2016.pdf. Instead use 06-19-2016.pdf or June-19-2016.pdf
- Do not save your document to PDF using “Microsoft Print to PDF” option. Microsoft encrypts the document and it can not be searched. Instead use cutePDF, AdobePDF or Google docs and save to pdf.
